Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter

A excursion to SIBUR's polymer processing research centre in Skolkovo was held on 23 April 2021. SIBUR is the largest Russian petrochemical company that pays special attention to the development of new properties of polymer products with a focus on the world's leading scientific and technological achievements. ⠀ During the excursion the students got acquainted with the structure of the centre and the equipment it uses. Specialists told about the structure of polymers, methods of examination of composition and the structures of the materials obtained, indicators by which the suitability for use is evaluated and what affects the properties of a particular product. ⠀ The chapter's activists were able to ask all their questions as well as to be energised for new achievements  

The annual conference organized by the Nord University has taken place from 20 to 22 April. The event discussed ideas for the economic development of the Arctic region, as well as develop measures necessary to ensure sustainable growth. Also, a scientific seminar was held within the framework of the event. Undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students were invited to participate in it. They were able to present and discuss ideas and projects related to the socio-economic and industrial development of the Arctic, and communicate with like-minded people from different countries, academic fields and universities. The second meeting of the company's specialist with students within the framework of the SPE FRANKLY project was successfully held within the walls of Gubkin University. The invited guest at the event was a specialist of Halliburton - well construction manager, Aydar Ramilevich Galimkhanov. The meeting was held in a question-and-answer format, the students asked the specialist various questions of interest to them related to the activities of Halliburton, discussed new technologies and enterprise prospects. In addition, the participants of the event knew about the career path of Aydar Ramilevich and received a number of useful advice on development and growth in the oil and gas industry. ⠀ At the end of the meeting, the most active students were presented with memorable gifts from Halliburton. ⠀ We thank Aydar Ramilevich Galimkhanov for participating in the event, for their professionalism and willingness to share their own experience!
