THE FIRST LESSON OF THE SPRING SEMESTER OF THE ENERGY4ME EDUCATIONAL COURSE HELD

This Sunday, March 28, the first lesson “Oil: from field to consumer” took place from the long-awaited spring course “Energy4me”. ⠀ Despite the online format, the team of the Energy4Me project continues to realize its goals, conduct interesting interactions with school students and transfer them basic knowledge about the oil and gas industry ⠀ In this lesson, the school students listened to an introductory lecture from Daria Belikova, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, about the history, origin and production of oil and gas, and also took part in the game “What? Where? When?" on oil and gas topics, where they were able to consolidate the knowledge gained about the industry and expand their horizons with new facts, as well as get to know each other.  

SPE Global Communication

On March 17, the second video conference was held within the framework of the SPE Global Communication project in 2021. The call was attended by 6 activists from the Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter, 2 representatives of the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology SPE Student Chapter (Argentina), as well as 1 representative from the Obafemi Awolowo University SPE Student Chapter (Nigeria). At the beginning of the call, a small ice-breaking was held, during which the representatives of the universities told about themselves, why they decided to join SPE and what projects they have been involved in. Then the representatives of Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter spoke about the main activities of their section, as well as its structure. PETROOLYMPIC GAMES NEWS

  The intellectual game PetroOlympic Games took place on Thursday, March 11, in which 12 students took part. Three teams - ProOil, Due Point and Dot fought in 3 rounds. The following specialists acted as judges: Mikhail Popov, Industry Solutions Advisor, Landmark Department, Halliburton, Mikhail Tsibulsky, Senior Business Development Specialist, Well Cementing Department, Halliburton. The game was held in a friendly atmosphere, all participants received positive emotions and expressed a desire to take part in further POG games! All participants received gifts, and the ProOil team became the winner of the game and received special prizes from the sponsor of the game, Halliburton.

SPE FRANKLY

On March 5, a new project from Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter "SPE FRANKLY" debuted. The project is a comfortable platform where students communicate with invited specialists and professionals on a free topic, touching on the main issues of interest to them. The main objective of the project is a conversation in the "no ties" format with specialists and discussion of various topics, not limited to the oil and gas industry. Questions of career development for young professionals, topics of concern to the whole world, and much more – our participants do not leave without attention to any interesting aspect. On February 27, another video conference was held within the framework of the SPE Global Communication project. The call was attended by the activists of the Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter, as well as the representatives of other SPE Student Chapters from The University of Oklahoma (the USA) Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus Student Chapter (The Republic of Cyprus).   At the beginning of the call, a small ice-breaking was held, in which representatives of the universities told about themselves, why they decided to join SPE and what projects they are involved in. On February 25, 2021, the Open Registration Day was held. Throughout the day, all interested students were able not only to learn about the activities of the SPE Gubkin Chapter, but also to participate in competitions from each committee, as well as to join the ranks of the organization's activists. By the end of the day, 27 students had acquired SPE Memberships and joined our ranks. After the Open Registration Day, the first meeting of activists of this term was held, which was attended by 35 people, including those who just want to join the asset! At the meeting, all those present were able to learn about the news of the organization, as well as about plans for the current term.  

THE ENERGY4ME EDUCATIONAL COURSE HELD IN THE AUTUMN SEMESTER BY ACTIVISTS OF THE SPE STUDENT SECTION HAS COMPLETED

Due to Covid-19, this year the educational course for high school students Energy4me was completely transferred to an online format, so students from all over Russia were able to take part in it. The course was held from October 18 to December 6. There is a large number of participants, more than 60 schoolchildren from more than 30 cities. In this semester, the course consisted of 7 lectures:   Introductory lesson. Geology. Geophysics. Well logging   Drilling oil and gas wells   Development of oil and gas fields   Offshore oil and gas fields   Transportation of oil and gas. THE MEETING WITH 2020 SPE PRESIDENT SHAUNA NOONAN

On December 15, 2020, the board of Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter had a meeting with the 2020 SPE President Shauna Noonan. The event was held online. The main topic of the videoconference was the recovery of the oil and gas industry after the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as vectors of development directions for SPE Student Chapters. The meeting began with the presentation with the main news from Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter for 2019-2020, as well as its achievements and the obstacles it faced over the past year. RESULTS OF THE INTENSIVE TO IMPROVE THE RESUME WRITING SKILLS

The first launch of a new project in the HR-сommittee has been successfully completed! For two months 27 participants under the leadership of 5 mentors, studied all the subtleties of writing their resume, improved it and brought it to perfection. We received a lot of good reviews! The 12th International Youth Scientific and Practical Congress: Oil and Gas Horizons was held at Gubkin University

 On 18-20 November 2020, the 12th International Youth Scientific and Practical Congress «Oil and Gas Horizons» was held online by Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter. This year, the Congress was attended by 128 students and young professionals representing 43 universities from 15 countries, including: Algeria, Azerbaijan, Colombia, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Lebanon, Mexico, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Venezuela and Russia. Oil and Gas Horizons is the largest international platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between oil and gas industry specialists from all over the world.
