Gubkin University International Educational Summer School
Gubkin University International Educational Summer School is an annual project, organized by Gubkin University in cooperation with the University of Stavanger (Stavanger, Norway) with the support of the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (Diku). Assistance was provided by Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter as well.
The Summer School "Offshore Fields Development" 2020 was held for bachelors, masters, postgraduates, teachers and specialists of the oil and gas industry. School classes were conducted on 5 day basis in English, using the online format.
The unique feature of Gubkin University’s Summer Schools is an opportunity to involve many leading specialists from all around the world as lecturers. It allows to bring in focus of the programme problems of current interest, the "hottest" innovative solutions, and to compare different approaches and viewpoints. In 2020 Summer School lecturers were representatives of the Gubkin University, University of Stavanger (Stavanger, Norway), Joint Institute for High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences and representatives of the Serbian multinational oil and gas company "Oil Industry of Serbia".
The Summer School 2020 gathered a record number of students in 4 years – more than 500 students from 142 universities and organizations in 53 countries. Undoubtedly, the number of participants has increased dramatically thanks to the holding of the Summer School in the online format.
