President

The President, being the head of the student Chapter, directs all its activities, coordinates the work of the heads of the committees and controls the organization of events and projects. In addition to internal work, external work is also carried out: he or she maintains contacts with the Presidents of other chapters around the world, oil and gas companies and leading industry specialists.

Responsibilities of the President

  •   Preside over student Chapter meetings.
  •  Communicate regularly with the sponsoring section, Faculty Advisor, and SPE staff regarding student Chapter plans, needs, or challenges.
  • Attend meetings of the sponsoring section and the officer Leadership Workshop hosted by SPE at the Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition.
  •  Submit an annual report by 1 April.
  • Ensure the student Chapter complies with all SPE policies.
  • Ensure election of student Chapter officers is conducted.

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL OF GUBKIN UNIVERSITY 2021

From 5 to 9 July 2021, the annual international educational summer school of Gubkin University was held for students and specialists of the oil and gas industry.   The Summer School included two areas: "Drilling and Well Construction" and "Sustainable Marine and Subsea Technologies". XIII International Youth Scientific and Practical Congress “Oil and Gas Horizons”

From 16 to 19 November the XIII International Youth Scientific and Practical Congress “Oil and Gas Horizons” was held at the National University of Oil and Gas “Gubkin University” in a hybrid format. The Congress is organized annually by the Gubkin University Student Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). This year, the Congress was attended 219 students, postgraduates and young professionals from 45 universities from 30 countries, including: Algeria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Colombia, Egypt, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Lebanon, Libya, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Senegal, Serbia, Sudan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam and Yemen.
