On July 7, 2020, activists of the Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter released the 14th issue of the SPE Times magazine. The current issue is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Gubkin Russian State University of oil and gas!

On the pages of the magazine you can find information about the stages of creation and development of Gubkin University since the opening of the Moscow mining Academy to the present day, as well as information about all student organizations operating at Gubkin University. The issue also mentions the main international events of Gubkin University, organized by the SPE student chapter: the eleventh international youth scientific and practical Congress "Oil and Gas Horizons" and the visit of 2020 SPE President Shona Noonan. The magazine also contains information about the educational project for high school students “Energy4me”, the results of the Gubkin students environmental expedition to the Arctic and the results of the past academic year of the Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter!

XIII International Youth Scientific and Practical Congress “Oil and Gas Horizons”

From 16 to 19 November the XIII International Youth Scientific and Practical Congress “Oil and Gas Horizons” was held at the National University of Oil and Gas “Gubkin University” in a hybrid format. The Congress is organized annually by the Gubkin University Student Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). This year, the Congress was attended 219 students, postgraduates and young professionals from 45 universities from 30 countries, including: Algeria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Colombia, Egypt, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Lebanon, Libya, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Senegal, Serbia, Sudan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam and Yemen. The Congress “Oil and Gas Horizons” is the largest international platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience of oil and gas industry specialists from all over the world. INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL OF GUBKIN UNIVERSITY 2021

From 5 to 9 July 2021, the annual international educational summer school of Gubkin University was held for students and specialists of the oil and gas industry.   The Summer School included two areas: "Drilling and Well Construction" and "Sustainable Marine and Subsea Technologies".
