INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL OF GUBKIN UNIVERSITY 2021
From 5 to 9 July 2021, the annual international educational summer school of Gubkin University was held for students and specialists of the oil and gas industry. The Summer School included two areas: "Drilling and Well Construction" and "Sustainable Marine and Subsea Technologies".
As part of the "Sustainable Marine and Subsea Technologies"
direction, aspects of environmental impact in connection with the production,
supply and processing of petroleum products, new solutions to environmental
problems in the oil and gas industry, modern technologies for offshore oil and
gas operations were considered, as well as legal regulation and international
cooperation in this area. The direction
was organized jointly with the University of Stavanger (Stavanger, Norway) with
the support of the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and
Improvement of the Quality of Higher Education (DIKU). Head of direction: Professor of the
Department of Development and Exploitation of Oil Fields of Gubkin University -
Anatoly Borisovich Zolotukhin.
Drilling and Well Construction area was focused on
issues related to new technologies in the field of drilling equipment, incident
prevention, the use of machine learning in drilling processes, trends in
automation and digitalization of drilling operations. The head was Mikhail Yakovlevich Gelfgat,
professor of the Oil and Gas Well Drilling Department of Gubkin University.
Among the lecturers of the School were representatives
of the faculty of Gubkin University, University of Stavanger (Norway),
University of Leoben (Austria), Jilin University (China), University College
Molde (Norway), Macquarie Law School (Australia), as well as specialists from
Digital Petroleum, WellsX LLC.
School
classes were held daily online in English.
More than 1000 students took part in the work of the school, of which
395 have successfully passed the test.
The participants were representatives of 79 universities and
organizations from 29 countries of the world.
Support for the organization of the summer school was provided by the SPE Student Section and the Department of Teaching Technology at Gubkin University.
